Alcohol / CollegeI just turned 21 a month ago. I haven't been binging, or out there hanging around bars and crap, but it has given me certain opportunities that I daydream about taking advantages of. I'm applying to universities this month and I've been thinking about the parties and drinking environment I am going to be thrown into. Honestly, I am anxious!
I've always been a really shy and socially awkward person. Alcohol is nice because of that, I am much more social, even if I've only drunk a little. I also tend to get hyper and have gone a bit over the top with my drinking a couple times in the past. When this happens, and I'm sure it will happen again at some point, I get flirty and spazzy and retarded. I do crap that I truly wouldn't have even considered doing before. I guess I just need to be safer about the environment I choose to drink in. I've been thinking about making a basic rule for myself to only drink when my boyfriend is present. I think that's a decent rule, and although he doesn't drink, he has let me know that he doesn't mind me drinking around him.
Maybe once I get some truly good friends that I can trust I can start drinking with them as well, but I just don't have anyone like that in my life right now.. sad shit. Goddammit why does alcohol and the lifestyle it provides have to be so tempting to me.
Anyone wanna share with me their experience with drinking or parying or college or LIFE? I'd just like to talk to someone right now..
